First of all, Lazio Innova recognized the project on sustainable and intelligent mobility of Duel as deserving and public contribution, given its social value and innovation. Furthermore, the project, based on the optimisation of the delivery of goods in the metropolitan area, foresees the development of an intelligent ICT platform and a virtual assistant for sustainable mobility to truck drivers interested in the urban distribution of goods.
Using traffic information from various sources, vehicle performance data and sophisticated optimization algorithms, the ICT service platform and the virtual assistant will assist the driver and the transport company in the implementation of innovative distribution schemes thanks to:
– dynamic route and delivery planning;
– through intelligent vehicle monitoring.
The ICT service platform and the virtual assistant have been created in order to optimize the service, in terms of business profitability, reduction of environmental impact and benefit for residents and users of the city.
In addition, the research activity will be carried out by the Research Centre for Transport and Logistics (CTL) of the University of Rome, La Sapienza, with decades of experience in fleet management systems.
Moreover, the CTL has developed an experimental system composed of an FMS – Fleet Management System and specialized models for energy-environmental and logistic planning and monitoring of vehicles. Finally, the research will focus both on modeling aspects, but also on aspects of logistics and transport management of vehicles, and on aspects of information and telecommunications.
